how does leak detection work

On a typical water detection monitoring system, a water leak is detected using sensor cables and or sensor probes which are monitored by a Central Alarm Panel. The alarm panel is able to locate a leak to within 1 meter anywhere on its system. Only a few millimetres of water are needed to trigger an alarm.
